Today has been such a great day and such an answer to so many prayers!! Milk is abundantly here! Which is great b/c this little boy can EAT! I'm really hoping he starts putting weight back on really quickly now. We are feeding every 2 hours in hopes of weight gain and flushing the jaundice. Nights have been rough because feeding every two hours ( as many of you know) really means feeding/diaper changed for about 45 minutes then an hour of sleep max by the time I clean everything up and get him settled and then we are back up and doing it all over again. I felt like a zombie most of the day but we still went on a wonderful walk and Matt and my mom let me take a nap this afternoon :) He also has been refusing the formula that the doctor wants us to give him (YAY!). I'm so happy about this because if he takes it, that means I'm not able to fill him up yet, but yay I am!!! :) I feel like so much less of a failure today! Still WAY too emotional, but doing much better. I had to say bye to my mom today as she needed to get back to work and life in Phx. I bawled after she left and thinking about it now makes me cry. It's not that I don't think that I can do this or that she won't be back soon, I just so enjoyed having her here and bonding over Landon and motherhood that I didn't want it to end. She was SO wonderful. She cleaned and cooked and soothed Landon so I could sleep and took the dogs for walks and gave them attention. She was just so wonderful about taking care of every little detail so I could have nothing to worry about except Landon. It was so wonderful and I'm SO thankful for her. I don't think I'd be nearly as healed right now if it weren't for her b/c I would've been up cooking and cleaning instead of resting and bonding with my little boy.
Other exciting news:
Landon got a sponge bath today and hated it at first, but I think he was feeling so great/content afterward :)
We got all of the diapers we needed today! Yay! So now the doctor will be much happier and we don't have to worry so much. This is also a good sign that we are on our way back up in weight and out of the dark jaundice yuck.
He sat half naked in indirect sunlight for hours today while cuddling with dad. He loved not wearing clothes and I think Matt loved the time with him :)
Praise the Lord for all of these blessings today. :)
