Adventures of 38 weeks

Here we are at 38 weeks. I am HUGE and I cannot get over the growing! I've still be having contractions like crazy and they have been keeping me up at night (especially the back ones) so I have felt rather miserable. Because I've been so miserable I haven't been working (which is SOOOOO boring!) and I've found myself becoming desperate. In my desperation I've been going on walks to Walmart at least once a day which is quite a good walk from our house! I've also been stretching to get ready and keeping our house pretty well ready for us to leave anytime. I also...NO JUDGEMENT PLEASE...read and was told by several people to try castor oil. SO, last night after dinner and cake I took a hefty amount of this disgusting oil mixed in with orange juice. I knew it would make me horrifically sick, but I figured if it sent me into labor it was worth it. At our last dr. appt we were 60% effaced, almost dialating, and his head was VERY low! They also estimated him at almost 7 lbs! So I figured we must be on the brink and maybe this would send me over the edge? BIG MISTAKE! I was up the majority of the night thanking the counter and/or the toilet for being so nice and cool and begging God to please not let me go into labor in this condition! That was almost 24 hours ago and I am still sick! I am begging you to never consider this!! Even if it had worked, I would have been an exhausted, dehydrated mess trying to push a baby out! Anyway, it was terrible and I wanted to share so that my many other preggo friends don't have to go through this!
Now I have decided that he's probably just not coming and I'm going to be huge and miserable for the rest of my life. So I've given up on all my desperate attempts and am just going to be a bum.
If you have actually stuck around to read all of this babbling, please pray for me. I have been begging God for patience and for him to settle my anxiety, but I am about to lose it! Please pray for God's peace to surround my thoughts and for me to be patient. Thank you for all your support and encouragement!!

  1. Aw he will be here soon! Even though that doesn't help to hear :) And I'll keep that castor oil thing in mind for the future! Labor will be hard enough without added misery. Stay strong girl!! :)
