This is a few days late, but we've been busy! We did height and weight at home last night (so not as accurate as the doc, but we double check each other to try to get as close as possible). It looks like our baby boy is about 10 lbs 12 oz and 24 inches long! He's grown so much in the past week (yay growth spurt) and was eating literally like every hour (my mom was there and can tell you it's true!). I was about ready to give up on the whole breastfeeding thing with Matt being gone and Landon being constantly attached to me. I felt so sleep deprived and starved and like I was going to lose it. Haha. Thankfully I didn't and now Matt is home and the growth spurt is over and things are getting back to normal around here. :) Here are some things about our sweet 3 month old boy -
* He can roll both ways, but only does back to belly if he really wants something or is upset. Otherwise he gets stuck on his side.
* He loves to pull and grab things. Especially clothing, my hair, and the animals on his tummy time mat.
*He is growing like a weed! I JUST put his newborn stuff away (that's another post) and now he has already outgrown some of his 0-3 month stuff! I guess he's decided to try and catch up now? Haha
*He is a fantastic sleeper...at night. He rarely takes naps and if he does they are spotty and short. But at night he is fabulous. He sleeps for 6-10 hour stretches (10 has only happened once, 6-8 is the norm) then eats and will sleep for 2-4 more hours. We are so thankful that he lets us sleep!!
*His dirty diapers have slowed down now and we have one big one every other day or so. We've learned that we can still not use disposables unless we would like to clean up for an hour after each poop!
*He coos and laughs and makes the cutest noises I've ever heard! He will often have a "conversation" with us when we talk to him.
*He is a voracious eater and just can't get enough. He just started rice cereal this week and hates the spoon part, but LOVES the cereal. He shrieks when the spoon leaves his mouth until it comes back with more cereal. Kinda funny...but when will it stop? Seriously. When? Anyway. He eats the recommended amount after breastfeeding and still is looking around at the end like he wants MORE! Ridiculous. Haha.
*He scoots around on his little mat and tries to move, wants to move sooo badly. It's funny to watch his frustration mount as he realizes that he's getting no where.
*His legs are getting so strong!! He's started kicking his legs a lot while laying on the floor, getting changed, etc. He will also 'stand' on us when we hold him up and seems to really enjoy it.
*He loves his mobile and will still lay in his crib and crack up at the animals as they move around. He also has taken to fans and any kind of lights recently and will watch them for extended periods of time.
* He has cut 4 teeth now and is a drool monster! He has cut some of his back bottom and top teeth and has been a pleasure to deal with (not). But we are proud of all his little teeth and feel pretty sad for him when he is miserable.
*He tries to suck on/eat everything that comes near his mouth
* He LOVES 2 go! He is so social! Anytime we r out he is silent and happy as can be, but when we get home...its all back to normal!
*He went on his first trip without dad this week (our staycation) and did very well! Next month we will go on a family trip to San Diego and are praying he will do really well! That's a long drive....
That's all the updates for now! We are still loving life as our family of 3 and always waiting and praying for our next steps in this crazy life. Landon is an absolute pleasure to have in our lives. We are immensely blessed and love him to pieces!
Landon was very intently eating and is generally VERY serious about dinner time, but the other night he kept pulling off and smiling. So I busted out the camera and this is what I got :)
