Day 11 & 12

Ok. I'm combining again. :) For these days I'm thankful for our church.

We go to the most wonderful church around. Of course I think that. My husband works there and all. But seriously, that place is just home. I've never been a part of a church that felt like this one. No, we aren't teeny and when you are new you probably won't have everyone in the place come get in your face and greet you b/c there are some 4-500 people there every given Sunday. It's a little more difficult. You have to put yourself out there. You have to show up to things and get connected and allow pieces of ur heart to float around a bit. But man, once you do, you are rewarded for it ten-fold.

The people at our church are fantastic. They are loving and giving and selfless. They are great examples of how to be a good mom, a good wife, a good daughter, a better friend. These people have changed me. They've changed my heart and my actions simply by being who they are. They radiate God's love and kindness. Some of the women at this church have absolutely rocked my world. They've shown such faith in the bleakest looking situations. They truly practice what they "preach". And the men! Talk about some of the most Godly men you will ever meet. There are so many wonderful people there that have helped bring Matt up and along in his faith through his life and I pray they will do the same for our little man as he grows and matures.

This place has been through a lot. We've only been trying to build or buy a building for like 8 years or so now! But our church waits patiently. These people fervently pray and believe that God has a wonderful plan for us and until it's time, we will just wait. Now after all this waiting, it appears that God is going to bless us with a wonderful building! One that we can grow in and change to meet our needs. One that we can afford and be debt free. One that we can call our own!

Thank you VVCC and it's members for teaching me to be patient and generous and faithful. Thank you for teaching me that our faith is not circumstantial. I cannot imagine going any other place and feeling more at home!
