Delaney is 4.5

Delaney is getting so big. I cannot believe how close she is to 5! Everything is going too fast! You are such a great big sister. You show so much kindness and love and compassion to your friends and your siblings. It's incredible to me what a beautiful big girl you are turning into!

Sleep - You went back to taking naps for a while again there, but once preschool got out for the summer that ended! You are so good at getting 11-12 hrs of sleep each night. No more, no less ;)

Eating - Laney is still just not super impressed by food! She gets that she should be excited about things and acts excited, but then she remembers that she doesn't actually like it at all. She loves bagels and fruit and meatballs and pasta.

Talking- She continues to have a big need to share lots of things with us every minute of every day. She is a big talker if she's comfortable. She loves to tell me pretend stories or "dreams" or "nightmirrors" (she thinks a nightmare = a dream) from the night before that's totally made up on the spot. She is quiet and reserved in a way and then is my biggest talker also. It's funny!

Play - She continues to impress me with her creativity. She loves crafts and playdough and anything she can create with. She's great at pretend play with outfits or dolls or really anything. She's great at independent play, playing outside, with one sibling or all. She just likes to play! She LOVES to play with Jayda. That's her favorite friend in the world right now.

Learning - Laney is one smart little girl! She's going to be VERY prepared for Kindergarten. I'd be shocked if she's not reading and writing super well by then. She's working on letter formation right now and loves it. Her brain is totally designed the opposite of Landon's! Being a parent is so much fun! Things seem to come very easily to her and she's very strong-willed and determined to do things when she sees Landon doing it and feels she can keep up.

Dislikes - - Laney doesn't love milk, large groups of people, being quiet, when Landon fights with her, or riding her bike on walks. I still haven't figured out the bike thing...but she doesn't seem to like it much.

Likes - Her lovey, her siblings (probably especially Ellie), snuggles and movies, reading books of any and all kinds, Cousin Ty, singing/dancing/being silly,being tickled and tossed around by her daddy. All things girly - hair, lipgloss, nailpolish, being pampered. You name it, she loves it!

Laneybugs! You are just so sweet. Your silliness and love just shine through and totally set you apart from everyone. You are such a precious girl to me. I just adore you and my time with you. I'm so glad I get one more year with you before you leave for Kindergarten and are in school forever! A few hours of preschool suit us both just fine :) Words cannot describe how much I love and appreciate you. I'm so proud of you and the girl you are becoming! I pray that Jesus will captivate your heart and attention and that you will know one day how much He loves you!!!
