Lucas at 18&19 months

Our wild man is growing and changing into a toddler right before our eyes! I felt like last month he was still my baby bookie and now all the sudden he's trying to be big and throwing tantrums and talking more. They change a lot in these months I guess! I just adore our crazy Bookie. He's so sweet and funny and goofy and naughty. He's going to be a class clown is my guess. He just loves to make everyone smile!

New things - Lucas is sleeping in a big boy bed for the past few months! At 17 months old he started climbing out of his crib and falling on his head and screaming. We did that all of two times and decided no more. It was time for the switch. He's done beautifully in it! He stays and waits for us to come get him in the morning and has done such a great job! Lucas now has all his baby teeth except for his two yr molars. I'm so thankful that's over for a bit!

Health- You just continue to grow and change and get healthier it seems! We saw the ENT and he agreed we could wait on ear tubes until your next ear infection. If that ear infection isn't for a long time, then we may be able to skip it all together. That would be lovely! Your swallowing continues to get better and you continually seem to get stronger swallowing muscles. You still cannot tolerate much dairy at all and soy only in small quantities. We tried yogurt last month (18 mos) and it was a fail :( I have hope you will outgrow things like your big sister and be able to eat regularly at some point here soon.

Schedule , Most days things look like this -
7- Awake and milk10 - milk and a snack1130 - lunch12 - nap230/3 - awake and milk
7 - bedtime

Eating - Lucas is an awesome eater. He loves all kinds of things and will try anything you give him. His favorites right now are crackers, berries, applesauce, oatmeal square cereal, fruit snacks, and roasted broccoli. I hope he continues to be this easy to feed. Also, the boy can EAT! When he gets hungry watch out! :)

Growth - He's grown a lot the past few weeks! He's in 18 mos clothing but needs 24 month jammies soon and his 18 mos shirts are getting tight too! His hips must still be small because he's not ready to move up at size there. At his 18 mos appointment he was 50% for height and weight! We were so impressed. Our big kids are still in the very small percentages and I'm not sure we've ever had a 50th percentile kid!

Words/signs - Lucas is at the stage now where he will parrot anything you say. His speech isn't super clear, but there's a LOT of it. He loves to point to Matt's mug in the morning and say "coffee!!" "hoooooot". I still love how he picks up any toy and says "Hewoaw". He surprises us regularly by saying words or asking for things that we had no idea he knew the name of! I guess that's what happens when you have two siblings that talk so much?

Likes - Lucas loves water! The water table and our pool and playing outside are some of his very favorite things to do. He still loves brushing his teeth, his lovey and paci, his siblings and dogs, reading books, and getting into naughty stuff! :)

Dislikes - He doesn't like to be told no suddenly! ;) He's not a happy camper if he's tired or hungry. He continues to dislike being alone and diaper changes.

Lucas Reed, I just love you to pieces. You are our little Curious George for sure. Thanks for bringing so much light and life and hilarity to our little family.
