21 months

Landon Reed is 21 months! I cannot believe how close we are to two! Here is his special blog all about him!

* Sleep - He's a biiig sleeper right now. I don't know if he is waking up in the night when his sister does or what. But he's been a huge sleepy head. Most days he's sleeping 8-8 again and he's let us sleep in until 9 a few times since Laney's been here! Crazy. He's napping 1-330 or 4 every day. Still doing awesome in his big boy bed and hasn't seemed bothered by his sister's wakings at all.

*Eating - He goes through phases where he will eat a TON and then eat nothing. We never know what to expect. He's become quite opinionated about what he would like to eat! Luckily he's still eating lots of healthy things! He is loving peanut butter right now and blueberries and bananas and mixed steamer veggies and grapes and cheezits. He also really enjoyed turkey this last month! He is so cute. Lately anytime he'd like to eat he goes to the cupboard and says "Naaaa?". He is asking "snack?". It's adorable and SO much better than whining and me not knowing what he wants! He is still drinking 4 sippies of whole milk each day and goes to the fridge and signs please when he wants it :)

* Words - his vocabulary continues to explode every day. He has new words all the time and is starting to use them on his own more. It used to be just us asking him if he could say things. But I feel like recently he's begun to understand that it's easier to get what he wants/needs when he can talk to us. So he's become more motivated for sure! Some of our favorites right now - everything in movies is Uh-oh! He loves to point to the tree and say "baaaw" for the balls :) He points to the TV and begs for 'butball' and has even thrown fits when we've tried to explain that there is no football on tv today. haha. My last favorite is prayers. He's started saying prayers each night before bed. He says "Dear Jesus" and thanks him for all our family members and say "Na!" for Amen. It's so precious!!

* Play - He seems to be completely uninterested in his toys lately. I'm SO thankful that Christmas is around the corner! I think I'm going to pack up some of his old ones and pull them out later so they are all new again after the newness of Christmas wears off a bit. I need him to like some toys right now since I'm nursing a lot!

* Schedule - He is still loving his Blanket time twice a day. He begs for it and is sooo excited each time we ask him if he'd like to have it! He's doing room time once a day for about 25 minutes and is liking that more all the time. I'm excited to put some new toys in there for him and make it a bit more exciting! These things are sooo helpful while I'm nursing. He's happy and entertained and not tearing the house to pieces and I get some special time with Laney while she's actually awake! He's also still doing table time twice a day. Although now he's doing about 15-20 minutes of it. I usually will sit there with him for at least one of these. We play with playdough or color or decorate pages with stickers. It's a good time for us to be together alone for a bit :)

* Sibling love - He's been doing awesome with his little sister. Every time she cries he comes to me and goes "huh! Dister!". He likes to come tear up sisters room while I'm changing her and play with her toys. He really seems to not care much about her as long as we are giving him enough attention and not holding her too long :) He's a very independent little man and it's really not been too tough on him.
* Other random things - He is in love with Sesame Street and Elmo right now. It's so cute when he tells us about "Ehmo". He got a new easel from Joy and Wayne and is in love with it. He wants to go in there and draw pictures and then wipe it down clean over and over each day :) His children's bible from the Murdocks. He learned how to jump and does it all the time now. He's super proud!! He still is loving wrestling with dad at the end of each day!

We are so in love with our rambunctious little toddler. He's stretching and growing us each day! We pray the terrible twos are not as terrible as we are thinking and that potty training is not something to be as feared as we've heard :) Looking forward to all the newness and fun that comes with this age. We love you bubbas!
