Delaney! Something has happened to you! Somehow in the last 6 months you've grown up so much. You are such a big girl. You love to be my helper lately and help with baths for the little two and give Ellie a bottle or a paci. You are a beautiful little girl, inside and out.
Sleep - Naps are a thing of the past! Laney sleeps 11.5-12 hours each night and only naps after a shorter nighttime sleep or when sick.
Eating - Still not Laney's favorite thing, surprise! ;) Laney is not food motivated at all. She often seems to eat teeny tiny bits just a few times a day. She really likes toast, oats, berries, Halos, hot dogs, roasted broccoli and brussles sprouts. Other than that there's not a whole lot she gets excited about and she often will not even finish favorite foods!
Talking - She is a talker. For sure. Just about any opportunity she has to be talking, she is. I think school is really great for her social need to talk :) She continues to be quiet in groups or with strangers, but if she's comfortable she's talking my ear off. She is still loving spelling out words to me and asking what they are or what they mean. She's improved a lot in her ability to tell us about things that happened at school or church or when she was with her grandparents. It's fun to get to hear every day what her favorite part of school was and what/ who she played with.
Play - Laney is the most imaginative of our bunch. She loves dress up, dolls, anything crafty or messy. She loves to use that creative side of her brain for sure. We still read often and she really enjoys it. I have to be really careful about her screen time lately, it's a choice activity for her but she is so good at playing by herself or with her siblings or anyone for that matter!!
Learning - She's growing in skill level all the time. Her drawing is so much more detailed than her brother's at this age. You can tell she enjoys that. I'd like to start working with her on blending letter sounds together since she's so interested and doing so well with it. Her scissors skills are improving a lot also.
Dislikes - Laney doesn't love milk, large groups of people, being quiet, when Landon fights with her, or riding her bike on walks. I still haven't figured out the bike thing...but she doesn't seem to like it much.
Likes - She likes her lovey, princesses, movies, her siblings, singing and dancing, school, Evan, one -on one time with any of "her people". She loves being silly, especially with her daddy it seems.
We love you Laneybug! I'm really looking forward to this year with you and watching you grow. I can't believe you are four. It felt like you were born just yesterday! You've been so sweet watching mommy's belly grow and then welcoming Ellie. You were so very excited for her to come and you just LOVE her. I'm so proud of what a big sister you are. You care so much for other people and their feelings. We are so thankful for you and so blessed to have you in our family!!!
