Lucas is six months old!

I know I say it all the time, but I cannot believe Lucas is 6 months! Cant. Believe. It.


Health - Lucas is doing SO well. We had a reflux and Dysphagia flare this month. That really stunk. But He is still not bleeding internally as far as well know. Spitting up blood seems like a thing of the past. He still chokes a few times a day. But not a few times an hour now! He really is doing wonderfully lately. We will see the GI and the Pediatric allergist the beginning of August and go from there. We will need to do another swallow study at some point as well.

Schedule - Lucas is funny. His days are fairly predictable. His nights are not ;) Some times he sleeps from his dream feed to his wake time. Others he's up once. You just never know.
730 - meds
8 - 6-7 oz bottle
830 - baby food! This has just been happening now at almost 7 months.
9 - nap
11 - wake, eat 6 oz
1130 - Pack N Play time
12 - Lunch with siblings
1 - we all read together
130 - nap time
330 - wake and meds again
4 - 6 oz bottle
530 - Cat nap
6/615 - Wake and baby food
7 - Get on PJs, 7 oz bottle
730 - meds and in bed


Eating - We've made SO many improvements here! It's super exciting. Our feeding therapist is amazing. She gives us great tricks and it's helped a lot. Our main goal is to keep his feeding aversions at bay (which has been very successful the last week or so) and to get him swallowing off of a spoon to build up those critical swallowing muscles that don't get as much work from a bottle. We are working towards those this month! He's on day three of eating bananas and applesauce, so that will hopefully help. Before this week we were doing formula on a spoon for practice.

Growth - Lucas is getting so big!! He's sitting up very well. I feel confident setting him most places to play for at least 10 minutes or so. He's not crawling and doesn't seem close. He rolls a ton every direction and gets his legs stuck in his crib slats really regularly! He's still in 6-9 month clothes, though I think he will need 9 month jammies here soon. He's in size 3 daytime and overnight diapers. He also has 2 teeth!

Likes - He likes his people, bath time, his exersaucer, his lovey and musical projector deal and anything he can chew on. He's started blanket time and pack n play time and seems to enjoy those too!

Dislikes - Eating at times, being away (or out of eye sight) from his people. Especially his momma. He dislikes loud/sudden noises and also skipping naps ; )

Our precious Lucas. You are such a sweet and loveable goof. You make us smile so much and can be so mysterious at times. You are tender-hearted and a giant ham! We love every oz and inch of you.
