13 months big

Oh our sweet Laney. I cannot believe you are 13 months old. How did that happen so fast? You are precious and sweet and fiesty and I want to CHOMP your cheeks about a million times a day. Here's what you've been doing lately...

New stuff - You are trying to talk all the time and you hum a little when music is on and always take a minute to sway or spin or jump to a good beat. You love pictures, your "people"(read your family), any and every animal, and eating. Eating is probably your most favorite thing in the world.

Words/signs - you now sign please,thank-you,hat, more, all done. You say mama, dada, yaya, dog, cat, a funny closed mouth version of all done, and uh uh (as in no). You also LOVE to shake your head back and forth no.

Food/eating - You are still doing 3 sippies and 1 bottle of milk a day and doing a much better job drinking it lately! You LOVE to eat. Like you think its the absolute best part of you day! You are eating 3 big meals and 2 snacks each day. You out-eat your brother and I most meals. You love berries, fruit pouches, multi-grain cheerios, noodles, any meat, and oats. You do not really like bananas, juice of any kind and the fact that I will not let you eat anything and everything that you are still allergic/intolerant to.

Sleep - Laney is certainly on her way to transitioning to one nap. But I think it'll still be a while before she's quite ready. So we are doing...
8 - Wake (she's normally already awake)
1030 - short nap
1115 - I wake her to preserve that afternoon nap
145 - long nap
430/5 - wake (sometimes I wake her, sometimes not)
8 - Bedtime

For how little we slept the beginning part of your life, you sure are a great little sleeper now! Sleepy head just like your big brother :)

Growth - From 9 -12 months Laney didn't gain much at all. I was really discouraged! I'm really hoping and praying she's gained this last month. We are going to our awesome friend's house sometime this week to borrow their scale and check on Laney's progress. Next baby, it will be a priority to buy a scale! She's still long and lean and in almost all 12 month clothing.

Independent play - Laney's been doing pack n play once a day and been doing fabulous for months. Now we are adding in Blanket time and that is just going perfectly as well. The training has been far easier with Laney than it was with Landon and I'm thankful! I was dreading it. haha. She is quite content to sit on a blankie and play with some new toys for a bit each day. Girls are just an entirely different world!

She continues to surprise us. I feel like her whole life she's been a surprise. Her hair came in dark and full and now it's coming in blonde and thin just like her brother. Her eyes were bright blue and now they look more greenish. She was a chunk the first few months and then ended up a skinnie minnie like her brother. She was the most sleepless child I've heard of and now sleeps like a total champ. She is so calm and sweet, but in the next moment can be busy and loud. She gets feisty with her brother lately when he gets too rough. She is just a continual little surprise! We love you to piece miss Laney! We are so blessed to be able to have you with us!
