First Big Boy Bandaid

Well, it finally happened! Landon got his first big boy owie and bandaid!

I was opening mail in the kitchen and Landon was playing with his toys on the floor in there. I had opened one envelope and then heard him hitting the laundry room door (it moves back and forth and he thinks it's awesome). So I looked at him to smile and then I saw it. BLOOD! It was all over the tile and the door and his face and hands and shirt. Holy cow. What do I do!?! Please keep in mind he had not made a peep. No crying or whining or anything. What on earth!? So I ran down the hall and grabbed a washcloth to try to wipe away some blood and find out what was bleeding. I tried multiple positions and gave up. He was not going to let me do this on my own (of COURSE Matt's out of town!). So I picked him up and walked out the front door (found out later I'd left it wide open OOPS). I walked to the Ponds (our neighbors that go to our church) and by the time I got there one of my arms, my whole chest, all of our clothes, my face and his and his whole arm. Jay's eyes widened and he ushered me in. So Bonnie go us all cleaned up and a bandaid put on. WHEW. So I thanked them profusely for always getting me out of a pickle (Jay saved Lincoln's life a few years back when Matt was out of town!!). So we came home to eat dinner. Mid-dinner I see blood on his face again! UGH. He totally bled through. So now I call Sam and Judy (father-in-law and my dear friend who's a nurse). They both come over and determine that he doesn't need stitches, but it's a good cut. So we all together work to clean him up and get a new bandaid and some pressure on and then it was all better. I'm so glad I have wonderful friends and family to help me take care of my child. It really DOES take a village! Well, all is well and he's out now. Scary day for mom!
