Ellie Bellie Turned 2!

Oh my sweet Ella belle. I cannot even handle that you're two! I cried for at least a week before your birthday. You've just been such a sweet and fun baby. We've totally just relished your babyhood and I'm sad because I feel like it's leaving and being traded with toddlerhood (which everyone who knows your momma knows this is NOT my favorite stage!). You're just the best snuggler of all the kids and you still love and want me so much and I just adore you. I don't want you to outgrow it! You're fiercely determined to grow up though! You're head-strong and spirited and so.much.fun! Sometimes Dad and I just look at each other and laugh because we'll tell all the kids they have to go outside and you are just happily playing with Daniel Tiger figurines next to us for 20 mins before we realize you are not where we told you to be! You might be a *tad* spoiled ;0 We adore you sweet girl. There's no other or better way to say it.

* Sleep - Ellie's a pretty great sleeper! I have no complaints. She usually sleeps 7PM-630AM. Lots of times she's up around 6 and happily plays and reads most days. She naps from 12-3. I think that nap is a little long for her, but when school starts next week it will naturally be cut by drop off and pickups anyway. She still uses a paci and her dogdog and 5 million other things to go to bed at night but no more milk!

* Eating - She's a pretty good eater too! A bit of toddler pickiness has kicked in, but there's not much room for it around here with the way we all eat so she will get over that soon I'm sure. She still LOVES her goat's milk and fruit snacks and blueberries and yogurt. She still hates broccoli. She's all about the cookies and donuts. Girl after my own heart!

* Words - this baby has more words than I could ever write down. She's putting together long sentences (that are very difficult to understand) and stomping her foot and getting very frustrated if I don't understand her! She says things like Gukey funny (Lukey's funny) and No I got it! She likes to tattle on everyone and parrot the big kids when they ask for things. She loves to tell the dogs they're good girls and pet them. Laney taught her to say I-pad a few months ago and it totally cracked us all up. Having her learn to talk has been fun for all of us! Lately she detests flies. We tell her it's ok and to just say "shoo fly" and instead she says every single time "fwy bee!!!" in her meanest voice possible. Cracks us up every time.

*Play- Ellie's awesome at blanket and table time. She has a much longer attention span than the boys did at this age. Must be a girl thing? Or a Shires girl thing at least? She loves to play with her new baby that she got for her birthday. She says "Oh no momma! Bebe's sad! Bebe cry!" and runs to get her and gives her a bottle and pats her and rocks her. It's the cutest ever! She really enjoys playdough creations also. Coloring is not something she enjoys right now.

* Sibling love - I adore watching our kids interact kindly with one another. Ellie asks for her brothers and sister the moment she wakes up. She hugs and kisses them all and says goodnight before heading upstairs. She seems very relational. She pats and comforts them when they are sad. She's always sure to tell me that Gukey's sad when he's screaming for the 12th time that day about nothing and then go check on him. She's got a really sweet and tender heart for sure. She and Lucas definitely fight the most. They're just so stinking close in age and ability that there's definite rivalry there. I hope as they get older and move into more gender defined roles that it will dissipate.

* Other things-  Ellie LOVES to dance. I mean, girlfriend hears a song in a restaurant and she's jamming out! She loves the movies Troll and Sing because there's tons of music that's perfect for dancing in both of those. We went to the Munro's house recently and she cracked us up dancing to Moanna songs with the big girls and trying to imitate them. She's potty training right now and doing amazing!! She hasn't gotten the whole #2 down quite yet, but she's working on it. She pee trained so quickly and so easily it was nuts! She loves to read with us and snuggle and watch a show or movie. She's such a sweet and fun little companion. Very easy to be with for sure. She loves to tell us that she's momma's bebe or dada's bebe and we love to ask her "Ellie, who's bebe are you??" just to hear her say that she's MY bebe ;)

Oh my bebe. I love you so. I hope you know that and own it forever. Our family would never be the same without you. We adore you and are so blessed to be your parents! I know we won't do it perfectly, but I hope that you can see us as imperfect people who love you fiercely and did our best with the help of Jesus to love and raise you well.
