How on earth is my baby closer to two now than one?! I don't know how that happened! He is such a big boy now. I feel like it's impossible to even write down all the new things he's doing and saying each day, but here's my best shot!
Sleeping -
* He is doing great in his big boy bed still, but we did have to start shutting his door so that he will wait for mom and dad to come get him instead of deciding that he's just done and ready to come out :)
* He is still sleeping great at night. Right now he's sleeping from 8-730 each day.
* Naps are the biggest change. He went from taking 4 hr naps to 2-2.5! Big adjustment and it just reminds me of how big he is getting!
Eating -
* Landon's definitely gotten more picky. There's nothing he will not eat ever other than avocado. But there are lots of days that he will randomly not want yogurt or something he loves, only to beg for it the next day. He sure is opinionated!
* Favorites right now are - Milk still for sure! Grapes, pretzels, cheese, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, green beans, cooked carrots, and fruit snacks.
Words-
* I feel like it's impossible to write down what his vocabulary is doing!! He hasn't learned any more signs for months, but he is starting to try to say the word while he signs. I'm so excited about this!!! He repeats and parrots just about everything we say, but he still is just not a big talker. He doesn't seem to have a whole lot to say to others. But when we are just with our families or hanging out at home he can't hardly stop babbling :) We love hearing all the new words come out each day!
Play -
* Nana bought him a tool set for his workbench that he's been absolutely in love with! It's a favorite thing to play with right now!
* He loves my birth ball and pushes it all over the house and loves to bounce on it with me :)
* Playdough is a new favorite that he's been using at table time. But considering how much of it he is eating, I'm guessing he may not be quite ready for it yet :) In the meantime we will stick to reading and coloring during table time :)
Schedule -
* Landon's been doing awesome with all of his independent play times! He's been doing table time twice a day for 5-8 minutes and I never thought it would be so helpful! He quietly hangs out and reads or colors or plays with a puzzle while I just put the dishes away and clean up the table and floor real fast and then I can get him cleaned up and we can move on! This is so helpful when Dad isn't home to help :) He's still doing great with blanket time twice a day for 25 minutes each. He loves it and gets so excited to go sit on his blankie! New this month was room time. He has special toys for room time just like blanket time but can play anywhere in his room and with any of the toys in there. He's been doing wonderfully with 15 min of that each day and really enjoys the other toys in there :)
* Structured learning time - this is something else new this month! We've worked in about 15-20 minutes of fun learning activities during the daytime. Most of our ideas have come from his awesome little friday class (Hands on Learning AZ). It's fun to watch him learn and grow and play with him during this time :)
Random others -
* L had to start his very first antibiotics every this month! :( He had been sick for weeks and weeks and after two drs visits and nothing to help him feel better we thought it was best to asks for some antibiotics. I'm so glad we did! He's been so much better and happier and I feel like we have our sweet healthy little boy back! :)
* Landon is still in love with animals! They make him so happy and excited! A German shepherd guide dog came into church and sat right behind us yesterday and he could not believe it! A dog! In church! haha. It was adorable. I love that he got this from me :)
* Something not from me, but from his dad - This child is in LOVE with music! He dances and claps all the time to just about any beat he hears. He is a tad bit obsessed with instruments also. Sunday mornings he books it to the stage to try to be super cute and convince the worship team to let him play with all their equipment :) All the baby play instruments at his Friday class are his favorite. We probably played there for a good hour the first day! I'm so excited to see this love coming out in him and can't wait to see where it takes him :)
* Dad bought a bike seat for Landon this month and it has quickly become a favorite. Landon points to the bike and signs please just about every time we are in the garage. It's super cute. And every time we see a bike it's "uhhhh! Dada! Dada!" haha. What a cute boy!
Well, that's all I can think of for now. Being Landon's parents is a constant adventure! We absolutely love learning from him every day and cannot wait for him to be a big brother soon :) He is still curious, fun-loving, a total ham, and very opinionated! We love seeing pieces of his personality that continue to come out all the time and look forward to all that's ahead!
