A year and a half?!
How on earth do I have an 18 month old? I do not understand how this happened. Not only that, he's about to be a big brother! I cannot believe what a big toddler we have now! Here are some fun things about Landon Reed -
*Communication - He's now saying Annie, Doggie, Daddy, Mama, Nana, All Done, "ssss" for cheese, Aunt Lala (a lala), duck, Lion, diaper (di-der), and just last night he said amen after dinner prayer and sister this morning when we were talking about Laney! I love hearing all these new words. It's seriously fun! He is signing (and we do not intend to teach him more) all done, book, duck, hat, dog, more, please, thank you, cat, hot.
* Labeling - We do all we can to label everything in hopes of always helping language to come a bit easier. It shocks me how much he knows! He may not call it by name, but when we ask him, he knows exactly what we are talking about! My favorite right now is body parts. :) He knows and will show on command - shoes, feet, knees, diaper, belly, shorts, shirt, mouth, teeth, tongue, nose, ears, eyes, and hair. I think that's all of them :)
* Following directions - Landon really loves to help and follow directions. He loves the praise that follows for sure :) His biggest new things have been: Staying in his big boy bed (for sleeping and for time-outs he is SO good about staying there and totally knows exactly what he is supposed to be doing), Cleaning up (he's been helping w/ clean up for quite some times now, but just this week has started doing it on his own!!!), and putting things back (this is my favorite b/c he is SUCH a perfectionist that when he puts it back it looks exactly like it did before he touched it! What a big boy).
* Sleep - As I mentioned, he's sleeping in his big boy bed now and has been doing fantastic! It's been about a month now. We had one fall and he was so scared it about killed me! But after that cleared, all was well! He's been sleeping 745-7 at night and 1130-330 for naps each day. He is just WAY too good of a sleeper. I'm sure I won't even know what to think of poor Laney after her brother has been so easy!
* Food and weight - at his well visit L weighed 24 lbs. He's lost a lb since he's been sick and has been a not great eater ever since. I'm hoping that this will be over soon now that the sickness has almost completely cleared up.
* Playtime - you are doing blanket time twice a day for 25 min a piece. You are so good at it and squeal anytime I ask you if you even want to do it! It's precious. Mama loves it too b/c I'm able to get things done like empty the dishwasher w/o you running away with knives :) You still love outside and I'm so thankful it's cooling down now so that we can go out there more often! You are in love with your car Nana bought you and would play with it all day every day if you could :)
* Other fun things - you've now gotten TWO haircuts :) You are super cute and always look bigger to me after them! You also are in a whiny/tantrum stage that is definitely not my favorite, but I have this sneaking suspicion that it's not really going anywhere anytime soon haha. You are SUCH a good boy though and I'm often amazed at how well you do at things like our church's annual meeting.
Landon Reed continues to be spunky, goofy, curious, cautious, shy at first and then a total class clown, bright, fun, and brings smiles to our faces countless times a day. We love you buddy and cannot wait to see what all the next months bring :)
