Our wonderful friends (The Petersons) made us a great trade the other day! We traded them our bookcase for their dresser from the 80s. I saw the potential in it immediately and started researching how to fix this baby up and make it work in L's new big boy room. These are just the before pics. It needs two more coats of paint until it's ready and then I'll update this post. But here are the befores :)
Ok. I'm finally finished! This was a bigger project than I anticipated! I sanded it all down, then primed it all and had to wait 3 nights before the first coat of paint! Then everything needed 3 full coats of pain and one touch up coat before it was ready. Lastly, we bought hardware at Home Depot. But the size of hardware holes that were originally there are not a common size. So we decided to drill new holes and just cover the old ones. I think it turned out pretty good and matches L's big boy bed as well as I could've hoped!! So I will leave you w/ the pics to decide for yourself. Oh, also the entire project cost us $45. All the other dressers I was looking at that I liked cost $150+ even on Craigslist (I guess you have to pay more to get things to match, who would've thought?!). So we were thrilled with the price and I at least was pretty impressed with the outcome!
